Introduction

This page can be accessed on your EPoS by going to Admin > Devices, by any user with permission to access the Admin Menu.

This page provides essential information regarding your internet connection, UPS status, and the devices configured in Kobas Cloud. The displayed data will assist your managers, Kobas Champion, IT administrator, and Kobas Support team in diagnosing any hardware-related issues effectively.

Note: This will only show devices on the Kobas venue where this is accessed from.


Device Monitor

The screen will highlight at the top any devices that require action. The top section then covers:

  • 🌐Internet Ping - How fast your internet responds; lower is better.
  • ⬇️Download speed - How quickly you can download menu data and system updates.
  • ⬆️Upload speed - How quickly your server can send your sales data to Kobas Cloud.
  • ⚠️UPS status - Shows if backup power is ready; important during power cuts.

DMgr

Tills, KDS Stations & Printers:

  • Name - The name given to the device in Kobas Cloud > Administration > Venue Settings.
  • Status
    • 🔴 The device currently cannot communicate with the server on your local network. It will display the last time it was online.
    • 🟡 This device needs configuring to work with Kobas.
    • 🟢 This device is online and working as expected.
    • 🔥 This suggests that an incorrect device is using that IP address. It could suggest that multiple devices are using the same IP address, or the device isn't on the correct address. Contact your IT administrator or Kobas Support for help.
  • Network Info - This will list the IP Address and MAC Address of the device. These are unique identifiers for the device, and how they are accessing your network. They will be useful for your IT administrator, or Kobas Support, should you require further assistance.
  • Ping - Shows the server's ability to communicate with the device, checked every few minutes.
    • 🔴🟢 Mixed: Some pings succeed, others fail. This may happen when tablets and handheld devices go on standby or leave the Wi-Fi, but fixed devices with wired connections should respond to a ping at all times.
    • 💀 Not Reachable: The server hasn't responded in the last hour. It may be offline, disconnected, or incorrectly configured.
    • 💯 Perfect: The server successfully communicates with the device every time.

Integrated PDQs:

  • Name - The name given to the device in Kobas Cloud > Administration > Venue Settings.
  • Last Success - The date and timestamp of the last successful card transaction.
  • Transaction Count 24h - The total number of successful transactions in the past 24 hours.
  • % 👍- The percentage of successful card transactions, in the past 24 hours.
