Introduction
Warning: You can only make changes to these settings once your CIC has been set up by our engineers.
You will need to have the relevant permission levels to access these pages, where the relevant settings are contained:
- Administration > Integration Settings
- Administration > Kobas System Preferences
- Administration > Venue Settings > Settings
Jump to the selection below that relates to the application(s) you wish to use.
There are also settings within Administration > Kobas System Preferences that will need to be considered when using the CIC.
Online Ordering
Administration > Integration Settings > Online Payments
To get started with Online Ordering in Kobas, you will first need an account with Stripe, a third-party payments processor, which will then allow you to enable the required settings to start taking orders. You can sign up through Cloud, for further details see here.
Administration > Integration Settings > Online Ordering
The checkbox in the Online Ordering tab will activate the ordering in your portal.
Once your Stripe payment details are saved, it is possible to enable Online Ordering. Once activated, it will be possible to enable settings for participating venues.
Administration > Integration Settings > CIC
Ensure that Online Ordering is checked on this screen.
In the CIC tab within Integration Settings, you can also activate Multi-Venue Ordering. Enabling Multi-Venue Ordering allows customers to place orders from multiple venues within the same area via the CIC. This system is designed for Food-hall style set-ups and is not recommended for venues that are not in the same location. Please discuss this with your Kobas contact.
From this page, you can activate the Category Splash screen.
You can also decide how you wish your Online Ordering checkout buttons to appear. You can make the Guest Checkout link more or less prominent, or hide it altogether. The latter option would force customers to register to place an order.
Next Steps
Due to the number of venue-specific settings, we have a separate article to take you through these steps.
Multi-Venue Ordering > Disable MVO Order Notes
The settings for MVO allow for food-hall style configurations where a customer can place orders from multiple units/vendors/traders in one order using our Online Ordering system.
When placing Online Orders, customers can add notes to individual items, or to the whole order. If the customer places an order in MVO that goes to different traders/units, the Order Notes will not be visible on dockets or KDS screens. Therefore, we allow clients to disable Order Notes in the MVO configuration.
Customer Facing Allergen Identifier
Administration > Integration Settings > CIC
This allows you to turn on our customer-facing tool which will show your menu at that specific venue, and allow customers to toggle their allergens and therefore see a bespoke menu to their needs. Please read here for more information on allergens and nutrition within Kobas.
Administration > Venue Settings > Settings > Sales & Marketing
Make sure that your venue is included on your CIC by ticking the Include Venue On Customer Loyalty Site checkbox.
Customer Loyalty Scheme
EPoS > Discount Manager
For the customer loyalty scheme, you will need to create, through Discount Manager, the vouchers you wish to be awarded at certain point thresholds to your loyalty customers. When you do this, ensure the checkbox under Requires a loyalty card. is checked, and give attention to the number of weeks before expiry.
Once you have completed this, you will need to email our Support Help Desk, for an engineer to apply the thresholds. We need to know which discount to apply at what points threshold, and whether it is recurring or one-off.
Administration > Integration Settings > CIC
Ensure that Customer Loyalty is checked. Underneath this section, you can also choose to disable the collection of some personally identifiable information, such as gender.
Note: Please note that if you disable CIC within Integration Settings, it will stop points rewards vouchers being sent to your customers. To also disable Welcome or Sign-Up vouchers, you will need to contact the Support Help Desk.
Administration > Venues > Venue Details > Sales & Marketing
Make sure that your venue is included on your CIC by ticking the Include Venue On Customer Loyalty Site checkbox.
Administration > Kobas System Preferences > Loyalty > Global
All of these settings require your attention, including:
- Logo upload
- Tick Loyalty accrues points
- Whether your scheme has physical cards, and whether customers can use QR codes
- Whether customers can use their vouchers without completing their profile
- A URL link to your scheme's terms and conditions
Top Tip: We would suggest setting all of these, including the URL for Terms & Conditions.
Administration > Kobas System Preferences > Birthday Emails
Please read our separate article here on setting up birthday offers for loyalty customers.
Gift Cards (beta)
Administration > Integration Settings > Online Payments
To get started with GIft Cards in Kobas, you will first need an account with Stripe, a third-party payments processor, which will then allow you to enable the required settings to start taking orders. You can sign up through Cloud, for further details see here.
If you have multiple Stripe accounts for your company, you will need to nominate one as your Primary account, for Gift Cards.
Administration > Venue Settings > Settings > Sales & Marketing
Make sure that your venue is included on your CIC by ticking the Include Venue On Customer Loyalty Site checkbox.
Administration > Integration Settings > CIC
Checking this box will activate the Gift Card page in your CIC.
