Generate Loyalty QR Codes in Bulk

Create and export loyalty QR codes for printing physical loyalty cards in just a few steps.

Who can use this feature:
🥇 Accounts on the Starters as an add-on, on Mains (if this is a chosen included feature) or All You Can Eat.
🔐 Users with access to Customers settings.

Overview:

Physical loyalty cards are a powerful way to strengthen customer engagement. Rather than creating codes one at a time, Kobas allows you to generate QR codes in bulk and export them as a CSV file. You can then share this file with your printer or fulfillment service to produce physical cards for your customers.

These codes work seamlessly with the Kobas loyalty scheme. When a customer scans their card in-venue, they're instantly recognised and can benefit from your configured loyalty rewards.

Follow these steps to create a batch of loyalty QR codes:

Step 1: Access Customers section

Log in to Kobas Cloud and navigate to Customers > Customers.

Step 2: Open the QR code generator

On the Customers page, you'll see a link that says: "To generate a list of codes which can be used to generate physical loyalty cards click here"
Click this link to access the QR code generation page.

Step 3: Enter a description

In the Description field, enter a name for this batch of codes. For example: "Loyalty QR codes" or "January 2026 Print Run". This helps you keep track of different batches if you generate codes multiple times.

Step 4: Specify the quantity

In the Quantity field (maximum 10,000), enter how many codes you need to generate. This should match the number of physical cards your printer will produce.

Step 5: Generate the codes

Click the Generate Codes button. Kobas will create your codes and make them available for download.

Step 6: Export to CSV

Once generation is complete, click the Export button. A CSV file will download to your device, containing all the QR code data needed by your printer.

Exporting and using your codes:

The exported CSV file contains the information your printer needs to generate physical loyalty cards. Typical data includes:

  • Unique code identifiers
  • QR code representations
  • Batch reference information

Share this file with your printer or card production service. They'll use it to print the QR codes onto your physical cards.

Best practices:

  • Batch naming: Use descriptive names in the Description field so you can identify batches later if needed.
  • Quantity planning: Order slightly more codes than you think you'll need, to account for damaged cards or future demand.
  • Printer specifications: Check with your printer about file format and specifications before generating codes in bulk.
  • Testing: Test a small batch of printed cards by scanning them on an EPoS till before ordering large quantities.

Loyalty Tags connect to QR code Loyalty codes through the PLU associated with each tag. When you sell a PLU to a customer with a Loyalty QR code, that PLU triggers the corresponding tag to apply to their account. For example: You have a loyalty tag to distinguish a specific customer segment, once you sell the PLU associated with that tag to a customer who has a Loyalty QR code, the PLU triggers the tag to apply to that customer.
