About The Allergen Prompt Feature

In Kobas Cloud, users will now be prompted with an alert when saving an EPoS Item that has no allergens assigned. This article explains the feature in more detail.

To give businesses greater control over allergen profiling, Kobas has developed and launched a new allergen prompt feature. The feature allows users to differentiate between items that have no allergens and items that have no confirmed allergen status.

In Kobas Cloud, users will now be prompted with an alert when saving an EPoS Item (found in Item (PLU) Manager) without any allergens assigned. This alert will appear only when editing EPoS Items, not ingredients.

This will take the form of a pop-out box which will provide the following options:

A) Yes – This Item Has No Allergens

B) Add Allergens Later

Confirm No Allergens

The selection made in Kobas Cloud has a direct impact on the customer-facing notice in your Customer-Interaction-Centre (CIC) within the "allergens & dietary" tab against each item.

This is as follows:

When selecting A – In the CIC, the item will display a customer-facing notice that states, “this item is allergen-free”.

When selecting B – In the CIC, the item will display a customer-facing notice that states, “please ask our staff about allergens for this item".

Set up

This feature is switched on as default in all Kobas Cloud accounts. In the future, we may provide the option to turn this off for Kobas clients not using the system to create allergen profiles.
